Beautiful setting. Historical hotel with bags of character. Easy to access Rome by train.

    Fabulous

We stayed here twice. The first night of our arrival to Italy for our 2 week trip and the last night. It was conveniently located fairly near the airport and away from the congestion of central Rome. The setting was gorgeous. We have a small child (age 6) and spent our time walking around the grounds and swimming in the pool. The terrace is a wonderful place to sit and have a coffee or drink. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't try the dinner as it was not kid friendly, but we did go to a very nice restaurant in town nearby that was very popular with the locals and perfect for children. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and would come back in the future.

Our room was fairly small and was on a ground floor so we didn't get a lot of natural light or a view. We were put in the same room twice, so it must be a typical room for a family of 3. The WiFi didn't work, but the staff at the desk was very accomodating when we had to use a computer to check in electronically for our return flight. The staff was very helpful in general. The water pressure in the shower wasn't strong enough and this was a little annoying.

The best !!! hotel for romantic weekend. Wonderful scenery around the castle, calm and peaceful atmosphere. One should definitely go for a romantic swim at night in the pool. A little pricy, but very good menu at restaurant.

Bar closes at 23.00, no permanent bartender during the day

    Good

The Restaurant was incredible and good value for money. The room was spacious, comfortable and equipped with all the mod cons we would require.

the communal facilities were not as expected, the 'spa' was run down and had two cold water whirlpools, the pool was closed and over grown and the bar area was not staffed and had ants everywhere. Service was mixed, good in the restaurant, terrible on the front desk - unhelpful, we were told we were too early to order a taxi on three occasions then had to wait when they finally conceded to order one. Also we asked for a sandwich for lunch and were charged 20 Euros for dry stale bread and cheese - it was inedible.

A lovely property set in the beautiful countryside surroundings of Rome. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and our room was lovely and very comfortable with good views. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. There are many historic and interesting towns & villages that are easily accessible by car from the castle, making for great day trips!

You need a car to get to the hotel. A taxi ride from Rome or from the airport would be very expensive!

We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon. Our room was fantastic with a sitting room and we even had a small balcony. Views over the countryside were beautiful. Can't imagine a more romantic way to start married life together. The fresco on the ceiling made our room all the more special. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was top notch and waiting staff were excellent at their jobs and happy to engage in conversation. Buffet breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. The hotel was just the right distance from Rome and at a cost of 1 euro to get into the city in around 40 minutes it was perfect. The free shuttle from hotel to the station was great but could be a little more frequent. All in all a fabulous place to stay- would definately return.

The only complaint we have is that the bed wasn't very comfortable in our room- but maybe that's just us!

My husband and I stayed at this villa/castle on our last night in Italy because it looked tranquil and is located near the airport (20 Mins). The Castello Della Castelluccia was so relaxing and interesting. The castle is full of antiques, vaulted walls, stone steps, and a fabulous pool. We were so happy to be able to sleep in a bit b/c of the close proximity to the airport. The staff was friendly and very courteous. We feel we now have a great place to start and end our trips to Italy.

The restaurant is a bit stuffy and pricey. We enjoyed our meal but feel we might venture out to dine next time rather than pay the high prices on the limited menu. However, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and enjoyable.

    Very good

The hotel itself is fantastic, the pool is great and its quick and relatively easy to get into Rome

Having read previous reviews I thought we wouldnt need to hire a car ..... but you do. When we arrived we asked what there was close to the hotel and the answer we got was ' nothing'. Because of this we felt a little trapped at the hotel and it meant if we didn't go into Rome we had to eat at the hotel, don't get me wrong the quality of the food was good, but the menu limited and a bit pricey. Also the spa facilities were not working for the whole time we were there!

This hotel was a complete delight. We were looking for a one night stay at the end of our holiday so we were near enough to Rome airport on the following morning. We were not too bothered re facilities in view of this but we were overwhelmed. A real classy hotel with classy decor, staff and facilities hidden away from the nearby hustle and bustle. Lovely clean rooms, top quality fitments and a large pool. The pool actually had a permanent attendant who gave you towels and showed you to a recliner. Restaurant staff were formally dressed and attentive. Menu a bit pricey but you felt you were getting value in view of the care shown. Despite being booked for a stop over this was one of the hotel highlights of our trip.

Not that easy to find as you come off the nearby bustling dual carriageway nearby and easy to overshoot the exit as you go under a bridge (as we did and had to loop back). Pool is a long way down from hotel (and back up!) via steps if infirm.

    Nice castle.

Expensive and not tasty food. Loud weddings weekends disturbing while sleeping. Bad sound isolation.

A lovely place without being "over the top". Very good quality in an updated traditional main building. Excellent services. Very good food in the restaurant at lunch and dinner, and prices for the a la carte menu not expensive in comparison with tourist-oriented restaurants in nearby Rome. A very good base away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but that is easily accessible. We took their advice and parked at La Giustiana station very close by (1.5 euro for the day) and went in to St Peter's by train (frequent, and only 1 euro each way), rather than fighting Rome traffic and impossible parking in the city cente. And the hotel is only about 30 minutes from Fiumicino Airport. Great pool, well maintained. Highly recommended.

It is a bit difficult to find although close to the main autostrada and main roads - but fine with satnav (we used our phone) or a good map. Some of the traditional antique-style furniture in the "superior bedroom" is rather tired. But most elements of the room were excellent. The hotel appears to host major functions quite regularly as a popular stylish location close to Rome centre, and we found there are stacked chairs and tables around when there isn't one on - although mainly fairly discreetly positioned - but I guess the relatively small number of staying guests could be quite overwhelmed if your stay happens to coincide with a function. However, the benefits of this lovely place probably make that worth the risk, or enquire beforehand.

Our trip in Italy was cut short due to my father-in-law passing away in the United States. It was our first night at Castello Della Castelluccia and we had two nights booked. We were concerned about staying the second night because we had to get to the airport early. Federica spent extra time with us ( we spoke to her outside after she got off of work), she explained to us the best time and way to get to the airport . She was genuinely concerned for us and was patient with all our questions. Everyone there was helpful and kind to us. The Castle and property is beautiful! The airconditioner works perfectly, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is excellent! Oh! And the food at the restaurant -delicious! One more thing...not to far from the castle is a pizzeria called Massimaserie- check it out!

    Superb

Breakfast was very good. Italian cakes were tasteful. Nice fresh fruit. Diner with authentic Roman dishes was very good also.

Swimming pool was closed, which was a disappointment for the two boys. The weather was good enough for a swim.
